I have been using Copper Heelers for some years now - I don’t know how they work, but then I don’t need to, I just know that they work for me and relieve me of joint pain in my ankles.
I have mine on a shoe insert which I move from shoe to shoe and really notice the difference if I go without them.
The other thing is that they are really comfortable to wear. I would have imagined that having a piece of metal in my shoe would not be - I have even, recently, put an arch support under the copper heelers as I am flat footed, but they are still comfortable to wear.
I have tried other things like Glucosamine Sulphate which many people swear by, but I seem to get better relief from these Copper Heelers.

I am a 78 year old who served in the Royal Artillery (The Gunners) for 40 years. For 32 years of that period I served at regimental duty, played all sports and leading a very rigorous and normal active military life. So I was a prime candidate for arthritis in later years.

Age 73, reasonable health up to 7 years ago when, out of the blue, I was afflicted with Polymyalgia Rheumatica which lasted some two and a half years, medication given was steroids.

Then, out of the blue again, in May this year the Polymyalgia Rheumatica returned causing severe pain and stiffness in my neck, shoulders, hips and knees.

Steroid medication commenced again by GP but this time I tried to help my recovery along and found The Original Copper Heeler. I have suffered with psoriatic arthritis for two years. Initially I was in pain throughout my entire body to the extent that I couldn’t walk; get in the bath or even go to the toilet unaided. It was horrendous. I have three children, the youngest being two years old now, and not being able to pick him up or cuddle him was heartbreaking.

The pain affected me mostly in the spring but we have our own garden design business so I couldn’t take time off. This meant that my husband had to help look after me instead of being able to work at our busiest time of year. This had a knock-on effect of increasing financial stress – in turn the stress provokes the inflammation!

I went to my doctor, who prescribed a chemo-therapy drug which I didn’t want to take due to its recent appearance on the market place and possible side-effects, as well as the need to have weekly blood tests. Instead I took opium-based pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs. Although these helped to a certain degree, I was still in a lot of pain for about six months.

Having refused the medication suggested by the rheumatologists and doctors, it was up to me to find a solution that I could live with. I read a lot about various diets and eventually followed a combination of the Kousmine and Seignalet diets a strict diet which eliminated wheat, dairy, alcohol and caffeine. I had to supplement my diet quite heavily to ensure I was not missing out any essential food elements at this point with omega 3, probiotics and a combination of colza, olive and nut oils. I was still taking the ani-inflammatories, but was able to lower the strength. I also replaced the opium based pain killers with paracetamol, and after 4 months I started to feel better.

I was worried though, as I was still taking anti-inflammatories and paracetamol on a daily basis, as the pain was still significant in my fingers, knees and feet.

I then heard about a copper insole called the Original Copper Heeler through my mother-in-law (who also uses them) and decided to give it a try.

I have been using the Original Copper Heeler for 2 months now and wear them every day. They are so comfortable that I forget they are there. They started reducing my pain immediately and I have since been able to reduce my medication by more than 50%, taking the lowest dose possible of anti-inflammatory every 2 to 3 days and no pain killers. I first saw your advertisement for copper heelers while on holiday in Gran Canaria and wondered if they really did work. I purchased a pair in October 2008 and found that after 2 weeks I was able to walk up and down stairs in the correct way and not take one step at a time walking on a sideways angle.

During the last year I had developed very serious arthritis in my left hand which made it very painful to lift items or manipulate things with this hand.

I was encouraged to give "copper heelers" a fair try, despite my early doubts.

I have hip and back problems and I was a little sceptical whether Copper Heelers would give me any relief from the pain, but after about two months I have been amazed and delighted that I suffer very little pain they really are wonderful.

I’ve had problems with a painful ankle since Christmas 2006. This pain at times progressed to my knee and the net result of both was a substantial limp and a limit to my walking ability.

By February 2007, with no improvement, I visited my GP who advised patience and painkillers. Allowing for the temporary respite due to painkillers nothing changed and with a holiday in Madeira looming I was quite concerned.

I have been playing football on a regular basis for nearly forty years. A couple of months ago I noticed that after playing I was experiencing considerable pains in the joints of my right knee and each time I played the pain got worse and took longer and longer to ease off. I was resigned to having to finally stop playing football.

I have only worn the "Copper Heelers" for a few weeks, but appear to be feeling relief, particularly in the hip region.

I have found great benefits from using the copper heelers for several reasons, among them the fact that after only a few weeks of use I definitely felt less pain in my joints.
Also, they are discreet and you can forget you are wearing them. This was important to me as I developed osteoarthritis in my early 40s and felt wearing a copper bracelet made it obvious to others that I had a joint problem. I was given a pair of copper inserts by a friend to see if they would help with pain associated with my osteoarthritis.

I had already had two successful hip replacements over the last two years but was now suffering with knee pain.

I had been wearing the copper inserts for about 3 weeks in my trainers, when we had the first heavy snow fall of the year.

As I was going in and out of the house in the snow I stopped wearing my trainers, substituting boots for outside and then changing into my slippers when I came in, forgetting all about the inserts.

I have bad arthritis in my left foot and had been taking pain killers for many months to relieve the pain but I saw the Original Copper Heelers advertised in the Melbourne Sunday Sun and thought I would order a pair just to try.

Seven years ago I injured my back and fell on my coxis which in turn led to Arthritis of the spine.

I have had Arthritis in my right knee for approx. 4½ years, very painful, I could hardly drive to work in the mornings, my job was driving a crane, so I had to give up work at 64 years of age.

Having completed and sent off the questionnaire I recently received from you, it occurs to me that the few lines I wrote about the changes Copper Heelers have brought about for me do not do justice to their revolutionary effect on my life.

Six years ago I moved to Ripponden in the South Pennines, to take advantage of the wonderful walking country in this area. Unfortunately the much wetter climate soon made its mark on me in the form of stiff and painful joints. I developed pain in my fingers, wrists, elbows and knees. Walking upstairs, stepping down rocky hillsides, carrying shopping, even lifting a cup, made me wince. I dreaded getting up in the mornings because lifting my dressing gown off its hook made my arm ache unbearably. My husband and I reached the conclusion that only by moving east, to a drier area, would my suffering be reduced, and we began to house hunt again.

I have osteoarthritis in both my hands and my feet. My right foot began to bother me about two years ago and I was beginning to limp even when walking a short distance. I have to tell you this: a guy I told about the heelers a few months back I met in the village only yesterday he was over the other side of the road and I pointed to his feet and he started jumping up in the air clicking his heels, before he had them he was like me finding walking hard work.

On one walk I forgot to transfer the Heelers into my boots. Disaster! After a few miles my foot completely cramped up with agonising pain and I had to limp back to the car. I've never forgotten to change since and I couldn't be without my Copper Heelers at any time of the day.
